Minitab - Design of Experiments

An advanced process analysis class using the Minitab Statistical Software and experimental data changes during the process to discover potential results.  Eliminate the trial and error approach.  The use of controlled changes can determine the point of optimization of a process.  Analysis of experimental data can be applied whenever you want to investigate a variable to gain understanding or improve performance.

Often used in research and development, Design of Experiments allows you to take a small set of experiments and look at variables - ultimately helping to reduce costs.  This mathematical approach is ideal for industrial design process.

Course Topics:

  • Hypothesis testing, t-test and F tests

  • Single factor experiments and ANOVA

  • Full and fractional factorial designs

  • Screening designs and Plackett-Burman designs

  • Residual analysis, normal probability plots and transforms

Who Should Attend: Industrial engineers working with new or existing processes,. Industrial quality engineers.

Participants need to bring laptops with Minitab preloaded - either a trial version or company purchased.

Instructor:
Kevin Clay is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and brings over 15 years of operational experience into the classroom. He has a wide range of Lean Six Sigma project experience in industries such as manufacturing, food processing, residential and commercial construction, banking, healthcare, etc.  Kevin has a B.S in Industrial Technology and an M.S. in Manufacturing Technology and Management from East Carolina University.  At TU, Kevin teaches both the Green and Black Belt Certification classes, as well as Minitab.
